Ego Likeness was created by artist Steven Archer and writer Donna Lynch in Baltimore, United States in 1999, Taking their name from Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction novel Dune. Steven and Donna have been married since October of 1999 and currently live in Baltimore, Meryland with two hairless cats.
Their music has ranged of genres since their origins, begining with darkly experimental Trip-Hop in their demo "Songs From a Dead City", to moody and melodic Dark Electro with their first album "Dragonfly", to a fusion of Industrial Rock for hard guitars sounds and Darkwave that shown in "Water to the Dead" and "The Order of the Reptile".
Steven also is the creator of the atmospheric electronica project Hopeful Machines, and performs with the DC industrial, power noise act Blind Till Now. He is also a resident DJ at Spellbound in DC and Ascension.
Both make up the experimental, spoken word outfit "The Trinity Project" and have released two albums under that name "The Trinity Project I" in 2001 and "The Subtle Movements of the Entropy Engine" in 2003.
Steven, isn't only a musician, if not he's also a graduate of The Corcoran School of Art, continues to exhibit paintings and mixed media pieces in various galleries, stores, conventions and venues throughout the US,He is also a regular contributor to Weird Tales Magazine and Steampunk Magazine. He is the author of a children's book, "Luna Maris", like Donna, who has written numerous poems and short stories, and released two collections of poetry "In My Mouth"' and "Ladies & Other Vicious Creatures" Her first novel "Isabel Burning" debuts on 2008. She has also collaborated with Steven on several art projects, including a handmade, limited edition illustrated book called "Twenty-Six (An Uncommon Book of ABCs)" and a series of Key and Lock paintings, which will be released as a complete collection in book form in the future.
In addition to The Cruxshadows, the band have had the honour to share the stage with a lot of diverse artist through all this years.
Ego Likeness announced the release of their fourth studio album "Breedless" on April of 2010.
