Gothic Hats

I was looking (or better..I was forced to watch xD) the royal wedding of William and Kate (I don't think I need to tell who they are since they have been talking about them 24/7 for over 5 months xD) and couldn't avoid to see those amazing HATS. Yes. The HATS. I have a little passion for hats even though they aren't considered fashionable unless you go to a ceremony. Anyway...I think in gothic fashion hats are a must-have. Especially if you are a follower of victorian or lolita or steampunk style. I love hats with lace decorations, with appliques of all kinds! Flowers, cameos and veils! I only own one and rarely wear it (since it looks a bit too much like a mourning hat) but it's my favourite accessory and I don't regret having bought it.  ^__^

(this one is amazing! :P)

(mine is similar to these but without the veil..only feathers and a net on the front :P)

If you don't have a gothic shop nearby, you can go to "normal" shops like Accessorize or Bijou Brigitte. Or if you are creative you can create your own by using an old hat and applying net veils, flowers etc. ^__^

Is Lady Gaga a Goth?

I was looking for some Lady Gaga pictures because I was looking for some make-up ideas and I stepped on many site were people ask wheter this Lady is a goth. Well the answer (or at least My answer) is NO. LADY GAGA IS NOT A GOTH.

As we all should know, being a goth is not all about the clothes, but it's mostly about the music you listen to. Lady Gaga said many times that she was inspired by Madonna, The Queen, David Bowie and Micheal Jackson. Is any of this artists considered goth music? NO. So again, NO, LADY GAGA IS NOT GOTH. Repeat with me. LADY-GAGA-IS-NOT-GOTH. xD

So why does she look goth sometimes? Well the answer is, because her main stylist was and still is Alexander McQueen who has many gothic elements in his creations! (click here please--> here.)

Anyway I think she's not a bad artist. At least she can sing a bit and she knows how to "act" and entertain. I really appreciate the fact that she DARES to be different from the mass. At least physically, she tries to be unique. Her music in fact is not. It's a mix between 80s music you could hear in gay clubs (she once said herself her music is for gay people mostly) with a Christina Aguilera sounding like voice. You can take inspiration from the famouse gothic side of her look though !

So no more talking Gaga being a goth now ok? ^__^

Gothic Idols- Victoria Francès

Victoria Francès is a spanish illustrator born in Valencia in 1982. She's very talented and known for her drawings inspired by gothic and romatic atmospheres. In her drawings you can find ghosts, vampires, women in long gowns and corsets, all in scenarios like cemeteries, forests, cathedrals or venetian palaces.

She has a degrees in Beautiful Arts and I consider her the pioneer of modern gothic art together with Luis Royo (which is by the way one artist she took inspiration from :P). You can find a lot of merchandise of her art, from posters to mugs, from puzzles to blankets! You can buy jewelry inspired by the jewels she drew in her most famous illustrations!

(I own this poster xD)

Her most famous works are contained in her books called Favole  and Misty Circus !!

Check out her official website : victoriafrances.es for more infos about this amazing artist

At the first official Bats Day, there was only about 80 people. At the second Bats Day, there was just over 200 people. The best thing is that everyone who goes to Bats Day can just leave all their cares and worries at the gate, and just have a fun time. May Bats Day in the Fun Park be around every year"

Gothic Hairstyles !

Some of you has issues with their hair. Some ask me "how can I make my hair look more gothic?" but my answer is, ANY hair suites the gothic style! of course the stereotype hairstyle is raven black hair, better if long but goths are known for trying to be unique so why following a stereotype? I went through the internet and found out some cool images of hair that you might want to try if you want to spice up your look.
