Clan Of Xymox - "the founding fathers of goth"

The band Clan of Xymox, also known as Xymox, formed in the Netherlands in 1981. They gained success in the 1980s, releasing their first two albums on a prestigious independent UK label, a third and fourth album on a major US label and scoring a hit single in the United States. Early pioneers of the dark and moody electronic music known as darkwave, their 1980s releases included synthpop/electronic dance music.

In the 1990s, their music turned increasingly goth (they have since been referred to as the "founding fathers of goth.") Though the band is still active and continues to tour and release records, of the original members (Ronny Moorings, Pieter Nooten, Frank Weyzig, and Anke Wolbert), only Moorings remains in the band today.

Gothic Music News - Releases of 2011

Well, I admit it's not easy to keep updated on all the goth and gothy bands of the world but I will try, at least with the most famous ones.

2011 has been a great year for goth bands. Bands like Blutengel, Leaves Eyes, Within Temptation, Inkubus Sukkubus, Sirenia, Gothminister, Clan Of Ximox, for example, have released new complete albums!

As fonts say also Skinny Puppy, The Birthday Massacre, Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) have very recently released or will be releasing new records! So if you are fans of the bands or just want to check out new music you should definitely keep in touch! :)

Same thing goes for Evanescence and Emilie Autumn.

Evanescence new album will be released in October, and the new single is already out! Check out "What You Want" at their official website www.evanescence.com ! :)

Also as written in the news on Emilie Autumn's site, she will too release a brand new album called "Fight Like A Girl", along with a new on-line shop (Asylum Emporium).

If you know about other gothic music releases, please let me know ^_^
